Nintendo NX Is Trying To Change The Concept Of Home And Handheld Consoles, According To Pokémon Company CEO-October 2024
Oct 20, 2024 9:22 PM

A few weeks ago, it's been reported that the yet to be fully detailed Nintendo NX console is going to be a hybrid console. We still have to receive a confirmation, but it seems like the earlier repots were somewhat accurate, according to what has been recently said by the Pokémon Company CEO in a new interview.

Speaking with the Wall Street Journal, the Pokémon Company CEO Tsunekazu Ishihara talked about the Nintendo NX, saying that the console is trying to change the concept of what it means to be a home console device or a handheld device, which definitely sounds like a confirmation of the hybrid nature of the console. He also confirmed that they will be developing games for the NX, but this was pretty much assured.

As already mentioned, the Nintendo NX has yet to be revealed in full, and several rumors are circulating online regarding some of its features. Last week, one of IGN's founders, Peer Schneider, mentioned that the 720p resolution for the screen is very credible and very highly likely. He also talked about the detachable controllers, stating that they won't be the main way to control games. He also added that a developer recently talked with him about the NX, defining the console as a reboot for Nintendo, most likely referring to the console possibly using carts.

The Nintendo NX will release sometime during March 2017 in all regions. We will let you know more about the console as soon as more comes in on it, so stay tuned for all the latest news.
