Nintendo Direct Announced for Tomorrow, 40 Minutes of News on Early 2023 Games Promised-October 2024
Oct 22, 2024 9:41 PM

Rumors have been floating around for a few weeks that Nintendo was preparing to launch their next big Nintendo Direct presentation soon, and today, they confirmed it. The next Nintendo Direct will livestream tomorrow (February 8) and it sounds like it will be a fairly meaty one. Nintendo is promising 40 minutes of info and trailers for games coming out in the first half of 2023. Beyond that, no specifics about what games will be focused have been provided.

Tune in at 2 p.m. PST tomorrow, Feb. 8, for a #NintendoDirect livestream featuring roughly 40 minutes of information mostly focused on #NintendoSwitch games launching in the first half of 2023.

So, what can we expect from this Nintendo Direct? As of now, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe, and Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon are the only Nintendo games confirmed to be coming out in the first half of 2023. Hopefully, we’ll see some more of Tears of the Kingdom, but I wouldn’t stake your life on a big gameplay blowout. That likely comes later in a dedicated Nintendo Direct. Still, hopefully we get a new Tears of the Kingdom trailer and maybe pre-order/special edition details.

Getting into more speculative territory, perhaps we finally get a new release date for Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp (the game has been in limbo following a delay due to the war in Ukraine). There are also various projects that have been rumored, including remakes of Metroid Prime and Baten Kaitos. Beyond that, who’s to say? Nintendo always has some surprises up their sleeve and, of course, there are always third-party games to consider.

What are your thoughts? Looking forward to tomorrow’s Nintendo Direct? What do you expect the show to include? What are you hoping you see?
