Nintendo Creates Bezel Engine For Third Party Switch Developers
Nintendo Creates Bezel Engine For Third Party Switch Developers-October 2024
Oct 22, 2024 8:27 AM

Nintendo has seemingly created an engine aimed toward third party developers who want to create Switch games.

The engine, which is known as NintendoWare Bezel Engine, has been shown during GDC Osaka, but very little is currently known about it. According to some, it's the same engine used by Nintendo for its own games, but no official confirmation has been made on the matter.

The official description doesn't say much more about the engine as well, simply saying that it's part of the publisher's wish to provide an environment that can allow developers to develop games in a short amount of time while keeping costs as low as possible.

Nintendo has a face as a software maker that delivers various game titles to customers, but it is also a platform holder that provides development environments to developers.

Among them, we have asked developers of games for the Nintendo platform "to provide an environment that can create interesting games in a short period of time while keeping development costs as low as possible", middleware called "NintendoWare Bezel Engine".

With so little information available, there's no doubt that Nintendo is still working on the engine. We will keep you updated as soon as more come in on the matter, so stay tuned for all the latest news.
