In an effort to put the N-Gage into more gamers' hands, Nokia is launching a flurry of promotions for the mobile phone/game deck. Nokia is letting consumers pick three game titles to bundle with the N-Gage for $299, provided they order them on EBGames and GameStop. In addition, those two stores are offering their own instant rebate of $100, making the package's total price $199.
Other online retailers are also offering N-Gage incentives. Wal-Mart's online store offers the three-game/deck bundle, a 64MB multimedia card, and a carrying case for $299. Target.com is selling a $100 gift certificate to purchasers of the N-Gage and one game title. Buy.com has also begun selling the deck, sans discount, for the original price of $299.
A Nokia spokesperson emphasized to GameSpot that the price cut had absolutely nothing to do with the N-Gage's encryption code being cracked earlier this week. Officially, the retail offensive has been in the works for weeks.
