Resident Evil: Retribution Resident Evil fans eagerly awaiting the next movie, Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, are going to need to wait a while longer. The movie has been delayed because lead the actress in the series is having her second child, and she says babies and zombies don't mix.

　　"After a lot of discussion, we thought it would be in everyone's best interest to wait till the baby is born before we set out to try and tackle a Resident Evil movie," Milla Jovovich, who plays Alice in the movies, said on Facebook. "Between the stunt work and what will become my ever-expanding belly, we didn't think pregnancy and zombie killing are the best combo! Lol! I imagine the only thing I'll be killing in the near future is an endless supply of cupcakes. Yikes…"

　　The father of the baby is Jovovich's husband, Resident Evil series director Paul W.S. Anderson.

　　Jovovich stressed that she wants to make Resident Evil: The Final Chapter "the best movie possible," and said that would be too difficult in her present, pregnant condition. She went on to say that she hopes to return to filming for the movie, which will be shot at least partially in South Africa, next summer. "Thanks so much for understanding everyone! All the best!" she said.

　　Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, as its name suggests, could be the final entry in the long-running movie series based on Capcom's action-horror franchise. The various Resident Evil movies throughout the years have not been well-received by critics, but the most recent entries--Retribution and Afterlife--grossed $240 million and $300 million worldwide, respectively.

　　Anderson said in June that he was considering releasing Resident Evil: The Final Chapter in 3D, but made it clear that 3D is "not just some special sauce you sprinkle on."

　　Though we may need to wait a while for Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, there are multiple new games on the horizon, including a Resident Evil remake for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PC in early 2015. In addition, Resident Evil: Revelations 2 was recently leaked, and there are rumors of a seventh installment in the core Resident Evil series.
