The next Call of Duty installment is almost certainly Black Ops 4, sources close to Kotaku have claimed.
Rumors about the next CoD being a Black Ops sequel surfaced earlier this year following a tweet from gaming journalist Marcus Sellars, who also claimed that the game would make its appearance on the Switch. While Sellars also stated that the game will be set in modern times without futuristic technology, sources close to the game’s development now claim that Black Ops 4 will be set in a near-future setting like the previous Black Ops installments.
Call of Duty Black Ops 4 (or IV) is being developed by Treyarch Studios, Activision’s studio responsible for the first three Black Ops games.
Another interesting tidbit regarding the next Black Ops is that NBA star James Harden has been seen wearing a cap showing the logo of Black Ops 4. According to Kotaku, a source close to the website confirmed that the logo on Harden’s hat is indeed the official logo for the upcoming shooter.

Yesterday we already covered Black Ops 4 merchandise which surfaced on GameStop’s internal database, which pretty much confirmed the existence of the game.
It seems that it’s only a matter of time before Activision and Treyarch officially confirm the title. Like previous Call of Duty installments, the game will most likely release this November.
