It has been reported that the next X-Men movie could begin production in June. A listing and synopsis for a movie called X-Men: Supernova has appeared on a production website, stating that it will start shooting this summer in Montreal.

　　The listing appears on My Entertainment World, and the synopsis reads: "Gathered together by Professor Charles Xavier to protect a world that fears and hates them, the X-Men had fought many battles, been on adventures that spanned galaxies, grappled enemies of limitless might, but none of this could prepare them for the most shocking struggle they would ever face.

　　"One of their own members, Jean Grey, has gained power beyond all comprehension, and that power has corrupted her absolutely! Now they must decide if the life of the woman they cherish is worth the existence of the entire universe!"

　　The production is yet to be confirmed by Fox, and no director or cast have been announced. However, this is not the first time the title X-Men: Supernova has been attached to the next film in the series. It is also known that the studio are looking to reboot the franchise, potentially with the classic Dark Phoenix story contained in this synopsis.

　　In November it was reported in that long-time X-Men producer Simon Kinberg was working on the new script. Kinberg had previously explained that although elements of Dark Phoenix had been used in previous films, he was still looking at ways to tackle it. "I think everything that hasn’t been told from First Class and Days of Future Past is up for grabs going forward," he said, via Cinemablend. "So, it would absolutely be a story that we could tell in a different way."

　　The character of Phoenix--aka Jean Grey--was played first by Famke Janssen, and most recently by Sophie Turner. Dark Phoenix was an extended storyline that ran in issues of The Uncanny X-Men throughout 1980. It focused on Jean Grey becoming corrupted by the Phoenix Force that provides her with her powers, and turning them against the X-Men.

　　In related news, it has also been revealed that the X-Men TV show will begin production in March. The series was greenlit by Fox last month, and will center upon young mutants who go on the run with their parents to escape government agents.
