The Walking Dead might have suffered falling ratings over the past couple of seasons, but it still remains one of the most popular shows on TV. Season 9 premieres on AMC next month, and with new showrunner Angela Kang and some major cast changes in store, expectations are high.

　　A new teaser for Season 9 has now been released. It doesn't reveal any new footage but it shows all of the main cast, presented in a crazy kaleidoscopic style. Whether or not the new season will be similarly psychedelic remains to be seen (we're guessing not), but it's still a trippy watch--check it out above. This promo follows a new batch of images that have been released over the past few weeks. There was also a trailer that premiered at San Diego Comic-Con in July.

　　Now Playing: The Walking Dead - 'Kaleidoscope' Season 9 Official Teaser

　　The big news about the upcoming season is that it will be last for actors Andrew Lincoln, who plays Rick, and Lauren Cohan, as Maggie. Both Lincoln and Cohan have starred in The Walking Dead since the first season in 2010 and will only appear in a handful of episodes each in Season 9. In July, Lincoln explained that his departure was simply down to his family. "I have two young children, and I live in a different country, and they become less portable as they get older," he said. "It was that simple. It was time for me to come home."

　　Cohan, meanwhile, has suggested that her exit might not be a final one. "It feels like the greatest way to honor it is to keep it open-ended because whether it's about me going back as Maggie or whether it's about me just taking in, absorbing, and honoring everything I've learned there," she told GameSpot. "It will never, ever leave me. And that is I think the greatest compliment you can give to anything and to any group of people because we all came together to make something that we didn't know was going to have this success that it did."

　　The Walking Dead Season 9 premieres on October 31.
