October is a month of scares and terrors, and Netflix has plenty of horror-related content coming in the upcoming month. Whether it's straight-up horror or horror-comedy, there is something for everyone as 2020 begins to wind down. Check out the full list of releases to the streaming service below along with a few recommendations.
The biggest release in October on Netflix is none other than The Haunting of Hill House follow-up The Haunting of Bly Manor. Once again, Mike Flanagan will direct the new season, which should be just as scary as the first. The story follows Henry Wingrave as he hires a nanny to take cared of his orphaned niece and nephew, and of course, it all takes place in a spooky haunted house. The first trailer recently arrived, and there's a lot of secret spooky moments in it.
If you're looking for something a tad lighter and more fun, then maybe Hubie Halloween is up your alley. Releasing on October 7, the upcoming Adam Sandler film sees the comedic actor take on the part of Hubie Dubois, a man who spends each Halloween making sure his neighbors are safe. However, this year, Hubie is very suspicious about one of his neighbors. You can see the first trailer for the film here.
There are plenty of non-Halloween choices as well, and this includes The 40-Year-Old-Virgin, which arrives on October 9. Relive the classic comedy as a man in his fourth decade of life learns about life and sex and selling your toy collection on eBay. On October 14, the Brad Pitt movie Moneyball arrives. Relive the thrill and excitement of baseball statistics, on base percentages, and lots of math in this 2011 film.
