Nintendo has announced it will be releasing three packs of DLC for New Super Mario Bros. 2 on the 3DS via today's Japanese Nintendo Direct live stream.
Mario is getting DLC. According to Nintendo president Satoru Iwata, the first pack will be called the "Ippatsu Shoubu de Dokidoki" pack, which is aimed at expert gamers. The second pack, "Go! Go! Gold Mario", will feature three courses where the objective is to collect more than 30,000 gold coins.
The third pack, "Kiroku ni Challenge! A", is a standard coin-collecting challenge mode where a player's score is uploaded worldwide. All three DLC packs will have three fixed stages each.
The DLC will be available in Japan on October 2 and will cost 200 yen each ($2.50). Gamers can access the DLC from the shop button at the bottom of the coin rush mode menu in the game. This story will be updated with details of its North American and Europe equivalents soon.
