New Star Wars Battlefront Update Out Today, Here's What It Adds and Changes-October 2024

  Star Wars Battlefront got a big update today that introduced content like a new map and mission, as well as film grain setting and weapon and star card balance changes, among other things.

  The new Battlefront map is "Twilight" on Hoth; it is now playable on the Walker Assault, Supremacy, Turning Point, Fighting Squadron, Drop Zone, and Heroes vs. Villains game modes. The new mission is called "Survival in the Ice Caves." As for the new film grain setting, you'll find it in the game's video menu.

  In terms of weapon changes, primary weapons now do 10 percent extra damage to air vehicles, while Barrage damage was been increased from 50 to 55. Additionally, Bowcaster explosion damage has been boosted from 10 to 15 per projectile, while the explosion radius drops from 3 to 2.5m.

  Additionally, DICE has increased the size of the A-Wing hit box, which should make bringing them down at least a little easier. On top of that, when piloting the Slave 1, you can now see if a Rebel vehicle has a Shield active through a new icon that will pop up.

  You should also get into matches faster with the new Battlefront update, as the pre-round timer has been lowered from 30 seconds to 20 seconds. The patch also brings with it a number of bug fixes, including solutions for lighting, textures, audio, user interface, text, and collision problems.

  The complete patches note are printed below, as written by DICE. According to Eurogamer, the size of the patch, on least on PS4, is 4.4 GB.

  Battlefront's first paid expansion, Outer Rim, is coming in March, though a release date has not been announced. At least three further expansions will follow: Bespin (summer 2016), Death Star (fall 2016), and an untitled offering coming in early 2017.
