After making an appearance at E3 last week, GameSpot News delivers new screenshots of Dino Crisis 2 for the Sony PlayStation. Capcom's dinosaur action-adventure game is taking quite a different direction in the sequel. Instead of using full 3D polygons in the field map, it now uses 2D pre-rendered CG backgrounds similar to the Resident Evil format. Players will now have a variety of powerful weapons to kill giant-sized dinosaurs with, and according to Capcom, they've been designed for more offensive aspects in the game. The first Dino Crisis was quite the opposite, where players were mostly running away from the dinosaurs rather than attacking them.
Dino Crisis 2 for the Sony PlayStation is expected for a fall release in Japan.
