As September kicks off, Disney+ has revealed its collection of TV shows and movies set to arrive on the platform across the month. From the start of September, viewers can jump into more Star Wars adventures in Ahsoka, catch up on new seasons of reality entertainment, and explore the ocean depths in the live-action remake of The Little Mermaid.
On Wednesdays in September, Star Wars Ahsoka will continue its Season 1 run. The show, a spinoff of The Mandalorian, sees Rosario Dawson reprise her role as Ahsoka Tano. She leads a team from Star Wars Rebels, with Mary Elizabeth Winstead portraying Hera Syndulla, Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren, and Eman Esfandi taking on the character of Ezra Bridger. Together, they embark on a mission against the iconic villain Grand Admiral Thrawn, portrayed by Lars Mikkelsen. Dawson alluded earlier this year to the possibility of a second season, depending on the success of this initial one.
On September 6, I Am Groot Season 2 comes to Disney+. The show follows the mischievous sapling, Baby Groot, as he embarks on various adventures among the stars. Vin Diesel will reprise his role as the voice of Groot, as per the official logline: "Baby Groot finds himself exploring the universe and beyond aboard the Guardians' spaceships, coming face-to-face--or nose-to-nose--with new and colorful creatures and environments."
