In May 2021, Disney+ has plenty of movies and TV shows coming your way. This includes the new Star Wars animated series and the launch of Cruella starring Emma Stone--the latter you'll have to shell out extra money for. Check out everything coming to Disney+ for the month of May below, along with some suggestions.
Kicking off the month is the Star Wars: The Bad Batch premiere on Tuesday, May 4. Spinning out of the final season of The Clone Wars animated series, The Bad Batch follows the titular crew of clones as they use their unique skillset to navigate the galaxy far, far away. In late March, The Bad Batch got a new trailer, which gave more insight into what Hunter, Echo, Tech, Wrecker, and Crosshair will be up to in Season 1. After the May 4 premiere, additional episodes will arrive every Friday, including the Episode 2 premiere on May 7.
On Friday, May 28, Disney Premier Access has its next, well, premiere. Emma Stone stars in the 101 Dalmatians prequel titled Cruella. Stone plays the titular character as we see her go from rags to riches--riches being coats made of dogs apparently. You can check out the latest trailer for yourself below. Of course, because this is premiere access, there will be a fee of $30--which is still cheaper than you and a friend going to the theater and buying some drinks and popcorn. Plus, you can watch the movie over and over again if you so choose.
Additionally, throughout the month, there are other things to keep your eye on. The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers, which airs on Fridays, wraps up its first season on May 28. The follow-up to the Disney franchise sees a new group of hopeful hockey players take on a whole new group of bullies--who just happen to be the Mighty Ducks team. On May 14, X-Men: The Last Stand lands on Disney+. The third X-Men movie attempts to adapt the Phoenix Saga storyline, and much like 2019's Dark Phoenix, it was also critical flop. But hey, Juggernaut is in it. That's pretty cool.
Below, you'll find everything coming to Disney+ for the month of May, but check out some of the pricing plans and general info about the streaming service if you're interested. Additionally, for more streaming news, check out what's arriving to Hulu and Shudder for May.
