New Nintendo Switch Model Doesn’t Feature IGZO Display
New Nintendo Switch Model Doesn’t Feature IGZO Display-October 2024
Oct 19, 2024 3:19 PM

The new Nintendo Switch model featuring improved battery life is apparently not using the recently announced IGZO displays.

In a recent video shared by Spawn Wave, it's been confirmed that while the new Switch model screen is an improvement over the original's, it is not an IGZO display.

After spending this past week with the new Nintendo Switch system that has better battery life I wanted to give my thoughts on the system and if it is worth an upgrade from your current Switch.

As the new Switch model isn't using IGZO displays, it's likely that the Nintendo Switch Lite and the further system revisions hinted at last week.

The Switch Lite is now very close to release. This new model of the popular Nintendo console comes with no support for the dock, and can only be used in handheld mode.

  Releasing: September 20, 2019

  Price: $199

Comes in three colors (Grey, Yellow, Turqoise)

Does not have detachable JoyCons, can’t be docked to the TV

  Has D-Pad!

Nintendo Switch Lite has integrated controls and is smaller than the flagship version of Nintendo Switch. It has no kickstand and, as a dedicated handheld gaming device, does not support video output to a TV. Therefore, it does not come with a dock or HDMI cable.

The new device can play all games in the robust Nintendo Switch library that support handheld mode*, although some games will have restrictions. Compatible game modes will be listed on the back of game packaging and in Nintendo eShop.
