The new Nintendo Switch mode with improved battery life has been released last week in Australia, and a new video showcasing a battery test has been released online.
The test, which has been shared on YouTube by MeeMe Gaming, shows how long the new battery lasts while playing The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild in handheld mode. The test shows that the battery lasted for over 5 hours while playing the game at around 50% brightness with Airplane Mode on, which is around double the battery life of the old model.
Battery life test with Zelda from 100% to 0%

Next month, the Lite model will be released worldwide. For a lower price, players can get a portable only version of the console.
Nintendo Switch Lite has integrated controls and is smaller than the flagship version of Nintendo Switch. It has no kickstand and, as a dedicated handheld gaming device, does not support video output to a TV. Therefore, it does not come with a dock or HDMI cable.
The new device can play all games in the robust Nintendo Switch library that support handheld mode*, although some games will have restrictions.
