McFarlane has released its brand-new wave of My Hero Academia action figures, with this round dedicated to Eijiro Kirishima, Ochaco Uraraka, and Shoto Todoroki. Each has 22 points of articulation, and and stand at seven inches tall. McFarlane provided Gamespot with the new wave so let's take a look at the newest toys in the line and see what they have to offer. First up is too-cold-to-hold Shoto.
Having the Quirk of being Half-Cold Half-Hot, he's able to generate substantial cold snaps and heat waves from his hands, shown accurately here with his two separate accessories. The folds and creases of his sleeves and pants, even around the curve of his stomach, show that this figure is high-quality. If there's one thing McFarlane Toys are great at, it's delivering top notch sculpts and Shoto here is a great example of that.

Shoto comes with an extra set of hands, but you're probably going to keep him displayed with him showing off his powers. He's incredibly posable. You can put him in a variety of action poses, and he's stable for the most part. McFarlane has its toys come with a standard base, so that's always a plus.

Looking now at Eijiro, aka Red Riot, his sculpt is also highly detailed, with his breeches and his waist cloth folding with the contours of his body. Even if you lifted up the cloth in the back, you can still see the folds of the pants leg. The paint job is simplistic as the colors used are minimal, but even the detail of his face, with the cracked smile so you can see the outline of his teeth is superb. It's not just a flat expression.
EijiroGallery
Eijiro comes with two sets of arms, one displaying his Quirk of Hardening in his forearms. The cracks in his arms don't have outlines, which is a nice touch and kept the hold lines off, making them part of the sculpt itself rather than a paint job. You can feel the texture as well as obviously see it. He has his mask accessory, which you can apply with some effort. His head has a plug at the top where his hair can be unattached. His mask/hair piece does slide over his head, but as stated, it takes a little work to get on there. I understand it saves them plastic and money instead of doing a full headswap, but be prepared for a mild struggle.

Possessing the Quirk of Zero Gravity, Ochaco can make any object she touches with all five of her fingers on one hand becomes weightless. Her spacesuit design gives her a fun quasi-astronaut feel. Ochaco doesn't come with any power displaying accessories per se but does come with a base that allows her to "fly" or "hover." Similar to the base that was included in the Action Comics #1000 Superman from McFarlane back in January (save for the MHA logo etched at the bottom), it gives her the chance to be displayed in a multitude of ways as if in zero gravity.

Because of the bulkiness of her costume, she doesn't have any ankle or thigh joints, but she has the more detailed costume of the bunch. The paint job gets slightly muddled near her center and waist, but that's knit-picking. Like Eijiro, she comes with a helmet accessory that pegs to the top of her head that does come on and off with relative ease. The detail of the paint in her eyes is great, too.

Each figure in this wave is priced at $20 and already available at Amazon. It's a complimentary wave that matches up the first one and gives hope of some of the cool things to come.
