God of War 3 Remastered and God of War (2018) appear to have received PS5 support-related updates, according to Lance McDonald, a Bloodborne and PT hacker/modder.
God of War 3 Remastered and God of War (2018) both received updates in the last few days, for the first time in years. Both titles will likely benefit from PlayStation 5 boost mode in this case. I wonder if there’s anything else hidden inside...

Exactly what's in the update is unknown, commented McDonald, but both games "will likely benefit from PS5 boost mode." Final Fantasy 7 Remake also received a patch that could potentially be a PS5 support-related update. However, due to patch notes' vague nature, we're not quite sure what's actually included in the update.

Now Playing: God of War: Ragnarok Reveal Trailer | PS5 Showcase
In a reply to someone who queried if there will be any difference in playing God of War 3 Remastered and God of War on PS4 with the new updates, McDonald stated he doesn't know and recommends players download the new patches and try it for themselves. McDonald added in another tweet that God of War (2018) on PS5 is likely to hit 60 FPS, since the frame rate is already uncapped.
God of War is a PlayStation exclusive franchise and the next installment, the fan-dubbed God of War: Ragnarok, will arrive on PS5 in 2021. It hasn't been given an official title by Sony, but the trailer tagline, "Ragnarok is coming," suggests that the fifth God of War game will be related to the Norse story of the end of the world.
The PS5 releases on November 12. It's currently sold out at major retailers, but there could be a chance of more preorders opening before launch date. (Though, you'll have to be nimble and lucky enough to actually get the PS5 from your cart to order confirmation.) Check out our PS5 preorder guide to keep up-to-date on what's in stock.
