According to a PlayNow.com article, fans of Valve Software's extremely popular first-person shooter Half-Life and the Half-Life: Team Fortress module will have to wait even longer than expected for Team Fortress 2. According to the article, Valve has decided to abandon the Quake engine, which it originally licensed for Half-Life in favor of a proprietary engine that has apparently been in development at the Valve offices for some months. The new engine should be much more flexible in terms of designing new content for the game. It will run Team Fortress 2 more realistically and also allow for better compatibility with a greater number of computer systems.
