New Cyberpunk 2077 Finisher Mod for Update 2.0 Enables Collisions and Ragdoll Behavior
New Cyberpunk 2077 Finisher Mod for Update 2.0 Enables Collisions and Ragdoll Behavior-November 2024
Nov 25, 2024 7:21 AM

A new Cyberpunk 2077 finisher mod has been released for update 2.0, which enables NPC ragdoll behavior and collisions.

Created by modder 'Kvalyr', the 'Enable Finisher Ragdolls' modification for CDPR's hit title is aimed to make enemy bodies less stiff and prevent them the bodies from clipping through world objects. According to the modder, there's a check in the code of the base game that disables ragdoll behavior as well as collisions for NPCs killed by finishing moves. This mod (which basically is a script) disables that check for NPCs.

Although this mod does improve NPC behavior, there are still some issues that aren't easily fixed. For instance, some of the finishing moves don't 'release' the body from their animation early enough. As such, the bodies of these NPCs "will still clip into world objects before the ragdoll physics kick in". We've included two videos from the mod in action below. The first video is without the mod and the second is with NPC behavior with the mod enabled.

PC players interested in trying out this mod can download it from Nexusmods. As noted by the modder, this mod can result in bugs, oddities, or glitches. As such, use at your own risk.

Cyberpunk 2077 is available worldwide now for PC and consoles. As mentioned, this mod is for the recently released free 2.0 update, which revamped various core game features as well as gameplay mechanics.  Last month, CD Projekt Red also released the paid Phantom Liberty expansion for the game. Here's what we wrote about that "shiny firmware update" in our review:

The side stories players will find in Dogtown tell of ruthless characters looking to exploit the situation for monetary gain or, more often, dejected residents who can barely find a way to survive on a day-to-day basis. Mr. Hands, a fixer with a rather multifaceted personality, assigns most of these missions to V. Moreover, Dogtown is the only place where Air Drop missions can spawn, explained in the lore as Hansen's method of getting supplies. You'll be able to spot an Air Drop quite easily, and they tend to be dropped in a handful of locations. Naturally, V must contend with other factions looking to obtain the AirDrop contents. Barghest is always there (and spawns immediately on the location, which is admittedly a bit underwhelming), though sometimes it'll be a three-way fight with the Voodoo Boys, who also have a presence in Dogtown. The loot is usually pretty good, and you can also get shards to enhance your capacity, which is always nice.
