Actor Adam Sandler and his Happy Madison production company are making a new family animated movie for STX Entertainment. The deal was announced today and represents just the latest partnership between Happy Madison and STX.
They have already made eight movies together, according to Deadline, including Airheads, Billy Madison, Bulletproof, Happy Gilmore, The Wedding Singer, The Waterboy, Big Daddy, and Little Nicky. Sandler played the lead roles in every one.
He will write, produce, and star in the new animated movie. At this time, however, there are no details about the story or a supporting cast. The film also does not yet have a title.
Sandler is no stranger to animated movies, as he voiced the main characters in movies like Eight Crazy Nights and the Hotel Transylvania series for Sony. He also starred in the 2015 live-action/CG video game movie Pixels.
He is also in the middle of a four-movie deal with Netflix. The first film, The Ridiculous 6, came out in May 2015 and became the most-watched movie in the streaming company's history over its first 30 days. The next film, The Do-Over, which stars Sandler and David Spade, opens on May 27.
