Netflix's Umbrella Academy Reveals New Poster Ahead Of Season 2
Netflix's Umbrella Academy Reveals New Poster Ahead Of Season 2-October 2024

Netflix has been steadily releasing kooky teasers and tidbits for the upcoming second season of its live-action adaptation of 2007's equally kooky comics series, The Umbrella Academy. Season 2 is slated to debut July 31, if a new posted released online today is anything to go off of, and it's is going to be "weird.". Check out the poster below, which features each of the main characters toting stylish '60s-style sunglasses:

Photo: NetflixThe fashion sense displayed in the shades telegraphs the season's setting: After escaping the apocalypse in the first season, the Hargreeves siblings land in '60s Dallas. If you've read this far and are wondering, "What the hell is Netflix's The Umbrella Academy?" fear not, we have you covered. The TV series, like the comics it's based on, is pretty out there: The surreal comics center on a dysfunctional family of seven superheroes raised together in the titular academy, where a chimp serves as their primary caretaker. Later on, more weird stuff happens like the seven learn that the Eiffel Tower is a space ship piloted by a zombie.

The series, created by Steve Blackman (an executive producer on Legion and also Altered Carbon) developed by Jeremy Slater (a writer on the Netflix Death Note adaptation), features a cast including Ellen Page, Justin H. Min, and Emmy Raver-Lampman.

The comics were created by Gerard Way (of band My Chemical Romance) and Brazilian comics artist Gabriel Bá.
