Over the past few years, Netflix has been trying out interactive specials, from Black Mirror's Bandersnatch to the Bear Grylls special You vs. Wild. The choose your own adventure-esque series allow users to control the fate of the characters on the shows. And now, the lovable Kimmy Schmidt is getting one in May called Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt: Kimmy vs. The Reverend: Interactive Special.
While the the special was announced almost a year ago, the first trailer for the show has arrived. You can help Kimmy along on her adventures, like choosing to plan her wedding or make out with her fiance. Or getting an Uber with Titus or walking to her destination. Check it out below.
In the new special, Kimmy (Ellie Kemper) is about to get married to the love of her live (Daniel Radcliffw); however, she quickly learns that there is another secret bunker out there, and Kimmy wants to save the girls kept in it. She teams up again with Titus (Tituss Burgess) for the latest adventure.
In March last year, Netflix VP Todd Yellin said the company would be creating more interactive content like this and Bandersnatch. "It's a huge hit around the world, and we realized, wow, interactive storytelling is something we want to bet more on," he said, as reported by Variety. Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt: Kimmy vs. The Reverend: Interactive Special comes to Netflix on May 12.
