Netflix's Arcane Series Gets New Trailer And November Release Date-November 2024
Nov 15, 2024 10:59 PM

The animated Netflix series event Arcane is coming to the streaming service on November 6. Based on the world of League of Legends, Netflix and Riot Games debuted a new trailer for the upcoming series during Tudum, Netflix's event.

Arcane takes place in the utopian world of Piltover in multiple Runeterra regions. Of course, you can expect Easter eggs from the League of Legends series, which includes some familiar faces, like Jinx, Vi, and Caitlyn. And yes, there will be plenty of action, adventure, and intrigue. Check out the trailer below.

The premiere will arrive at 7 PM PT, hours after the League of Legends Worlds final. Arcane will consist of nine episodes with three episodes in each act. The first three episodes--which follow Jinx and Vi--will launch on November 6. Act two of Arcane lands on November 13 and act three arrives on November 20. The latter acts will arrive at 12 AM PT on their respective release dates.

According to the official synopsis for the series, "Arcane dives into the delicate balance between the rich city of Piltover and the seedy underbelly of Zaun. Known across Runeterra as the 'city of progress,' many of the most brilliant minds call these cities home. But the creation of hextech, a way for any person to control magical energy, threatens that balance. While Arcane holds the backstories of League of Legends champions, the series is designed to stand on its own as a complex world filled with moral decisions, breathtaking animation, and suspenseful storytelling." Netflix gave us all our first look at the series during Geeked Week, where we saw shots of Jinx and Vi, and got a 19-second long teaser for Arcane.

Arcane stars Hailee Steinfeld as Vi, Katie Leung as Caitlyn, Kevin Alejandro as Jayce, Jason Spisak as Silco, Ella Prunell as Jinx, Toks Olagundoye as Mel, JB Blanc as Vander, and Harry Lloyd as Viktor.

"Players all over the world love League and its universe," explained Riot Games CEO Nicolo Laurent. "Their passion is what inspires us to create expressions of Runeterra worthy of their fandom. The launch of Arcane is the beginning of the next chapter for Riot and we can’t wait for players to see what we have in store for them across games, entertainment, and sports. "In recognition of this moment, we're putting players at the center of an amazing launch experience. Worlds and Arcane will combine to form a unified, global celebration, blending competition, entertainment, and community in a whole new way. Think about it like a super weekend for players."

Arcane was originally going to be released in 2020; however, the COVID-19 pandemic caused delays in production. The show is inspired by Riot Games League of Legends multiplayer online battle arena video game. Launching in 2009, it's one of the world's largest esport games.
