Netflix's Altered Carbon Season 2 Gets New Trailer And Mind-Bending Poster-September 2024
Sep 21, 2024 10:03 PM

Netflix's hit series Altered Carbon returns to the streaming service on February 27. Last month, the first trailer for the series was released, and now, there's a detailed video explaining more about the plot for the upcoming season, along with a new poster.

In the world of Altered Carbon, minds can outlive their bodies by being "resleeved," or simply just put into a new body. The main character of Altered Carbon gets a new sleeve this season, and he's trying to connect to his past, as you can see in the latest trailer below.

"How does it feel to be afraid of death again? Or is this your first time?" That's a pretty telling moment from the trailer, which could mean that the whole resleeving process may be a thing of the past in Altered Carbon.

In addition to the new trailer, a new poster for Season 2 has arrived, which gives some clues as to what the upcoming season is about--as long as you watched the first season and have a decent idea of what's happening in this relatively high-concept science fiction show. Check it out below.

Netflix released an official synopsis for the upcoming season as well: "Season Two begins 30 years after the epic conclusion of Season One, and finds Takeshi Kovacs (Anthony Mackie), the lone surviving soldier of a group of elite interstellar warriors, continuing his centuries old quest to find his lost love Quellcrist Falconer (Renée Elise Goldsberry). After decades of planet-hopping and searching the galaxy, Kovacs is recruited back to his home planet of Harlan’s World with the promise of finding Quell. Haunted by his past and responsible for investigating a series of brutal murders, Kovacs is stunned to discover his new mission to solve the crime and his pursuit to find Quell are one and the same. With the help of his loyal A.I. Poe (Chris Conner), Kovacs must now partner with new allies to outwit his enemies and find the truth: Who is Quellcrist Falconer?"

In his review of Season 1 of Altered Carbon, Mike Rougeau said, "Altered Carbon never shies from examining exactly how an invention like the cortical stack would change our reality, and this future society appears far different from our own. Yet in many ways, it's really exactly the same--which is more or less the prime directive of great science fiction."

Altered Carbon Season 2 arrives on Netflix on February 27.
