Move over, The Witcher: indie platformer Cuphead is the next game to make the jump to Netflix. The streaming service has revealed plans to adapt the game into an animated TV series known as "The Cuphead Show!" It will expand on the story and world of Cuphead, presumably with the same 1930s rubber band style of animation. No images or videos have been shared as of yet, but we do have some details about who's behind it.
The show is being executive produced by Cuphead creators Chad and Jared Moldenhauer, along with Dave Wasson who has directed the similarly styled Mickey Mouse Shorts. Cosmo Segurson (Rocko's Modern Life: Static Cling) and C.J. Kettler (Carmen Sandiego) are also executive producing.

The Cuphead Show is now in production, and no release date has been announced.
The game focuses on Cuphead and his brother Mugman as they accidentally gamble away their souls to the devil. The art style in particular was praised for paying homage to classic cartoons in the style of Fleischer Studios. Those included works like Betty Boop and Popeye. It was also notoriously difficult.
"Cuphead has been a longtime coming, and it's great to see that it lives up to its initial promises across all platforms," Peter Brown wrote in GameSpot's review. "It's beautiful to look at, and with a pitch-perfect soundtrack, it flawlessly captures the era its developers so clearly revere. It's also an intense action game that pulls no punches. It could benefit from a few tweaks, and two-player co-op doesn't feel like the valuable addition you might imagine, but Cuphead remains a rare, unique game that truly stands out."
