A spin-off of a spin-off? That's reportedly in the cards for Netflix, as the streaming service looks into developing an Uncle Fester show with Fred Armisen that originated from the hit series Wednesday.
According to Bloomberg, this is part of Netflix entering "its franchise era." The company renewed a second season of Wednesday quickly after The Addams Family spin-off became Netflix's most-watched show in a week late last year. As such, the streaming service is eyeballing more programs around the creepy and kooky family. It's unknown this early if the Uncle Fester show will come to fruition, but Netflix and Amazon (which now owns The Addams Family rights) are apparently both eager to expand the universe.
That's not all for Netflix, either. The report mentions there could be an Extraction show, though no details were provided. The film sequel saw Chris Hemsworth be set on fire for real.
There are also two Peaky Blinders spin-offs under consideration as well. Bloomberg says one of the series would focus on mid-20th century Boston, so set decades after the flagship show. Meanwhile, the other would star Helen McCrory's Polly, a mainstay for the first five seasons of Peaky Blinders.
Earlier this month, Cillian Murphy mentioned he's open to the idea of a Peaky Blinders movie, though it doesn't sound like any plans are in the works currently.
