Netflix Horror Anthology Midnight Club Cast Announced-October 2024
Oct 21, 2024 5:10 PM

The cast of the upcoming Netflix horror anthology show Midnight Club has been announced. The show is the latest offering from Mike Flanagan, whose previous releases include The Haunting of Hill House, Doctor Sleep, and Gerard's Game.

Flanagan revealed the cast of The Midnight Club on Twitter, alongside some more information about the series. The show is set in a hospice for terminally ill young adults and will focus on a group of patients who form a club to tell each other spooky stories at night.

Nightmare on Elm Street icon Heather Lengencamp is set to play the "enigmatic doctor" who runs the hospice, and the cast also includes Igby Rigney (Blue Bloods), William Chris Sumpter (Power), Aya Furukawa (The Cabin in the Woods), Adia (Danger Love Story), Annarah Shephard (Caged), Sauriyan Sapkota (Grey's Anatomy), Zach Gilford (Friday Night Lights), Samantha Sloyan (The Haunting of Hill House), and Matt Biedel (Narcos: Mexico).

The Midnight Club is based on Christopher Pike's 1994 novel of the same title. Flanagan stated on Twitter that "I've been dreaming of this project since I was a teenager, and I cannot wait to embark on yet another adventure intrepid partner in crime (and television) Trevor Macy, as well as the fantastic crew we've been cultivating." Flanagan said that the show will start production soon and that there would be "more to come as we get closer to shooting."

The Midnight Club isn't to be confused--but almost certainly will be--with another Netflix horror series that Flanagan is making titled Midnight Mass. This show has now completed production and is set to hit the service later this year. It's a seven-episode show about a small island community who start to experience strange things after the arrival of a mysterious priest.

Flanagan's The Haunting of Bly Manor was released in October last year. In his review for GameSpot, Mason Downey described it as "as much a slow burn drama as it is a horror show" that is "far more interested in subverting expectations than leaning into them."
