The wait for The Matrix Resurrections to hit theaters and HBO Max on December 22 is nearly over, but more footage of the upcoming film continues to be released. In a new clip posted online by Bloody Disgusting, additional credence is given to certain fan theories--but because this is The Matrix, it'll be hard to tell even after seeing the film what is really going on.
If you want to avoid spoilers for the film, it's probably a wise idea to click off to somewhere else now. In the new clip, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (Watchmen, Candyman) as Morpheus once again offers Neo a pill--but this time, only a red one. As Neo, Keanu Reeves looks to be retraumatized by just seeing the pill. He has moments to decide in what looks to be a very stylish bathroom in some unknown public place, as the exit inside a mirror breaks. You can watch the minute-long clip below.
The Matrix: Resurrections stars Keanu Reeves, Carrie Anne-Moss, Jessica Henwick (Underwater), Ellen Hollman (Spartacus), Jonathan Groff (Mindhunter), Priyanka Chopra (We Can Be Heroes), and Daniel Bernhardt (Birds of Prey). The fourth movie in the series is directed by Lana Wachowski. Lilly Wachowski will not be working again with her sister on the latest movie, as she didn't want to step back into the world of The Matrix.
During The Game Awards last week, an impressive techo demo titled The Matrix Awakens was released as a free download on the PlayStation Network and Xbox Games Store.
