Namco (now Namco Bandai Games) has been releasing console collections of its arcade hits since the mid-1990s under the name Namco Museum. The series has hit just about every system in recent memory, and is adding one more to its list of consoles conquered this year.
The company today announced that it is working on Namco Museum DS, which is set for release this summer. The eight-game collection features several familiar names from coin-op arcades, including Pac-Man, Dig Dug II, Galaga, and Mappy.
Namco Museum DS will also include a version of Pac-Man vs.--a first for the series--the 2003 game created by Nintendo's Shigeru Miyamoto. This take on the famous franchise was designed for multiplayer action, as three gamers can play as the ghosts and chase after a human-controlled Pac-Man. Pac-Man vs. will also support game sharing, allowing four people to play using only one cartridge and four DSes.
Namco Museum DS includes the following:
Pac-Man
Pac-Man vs.
Dig Dug II
Galaga
Galaxian
Mappy
Xevious
Tower of Druaga
Namco Museum DS has not yet been rated by the ESRB and will retail for $19.99.
