This Thursday sees the end of an infamous chapter in Australian PC gaming history, as Blizzard is set to release the long-awaited Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty patch that will allow Aussie and Kiwi gamers into North American servers.

　　At this stage there's no indication as to how large the patch is, but it is safe to say that it's a far cry from one previous possible solution that was tossed around, which would see Aussie gamers downloading the entire NA client in order to gain access to the NA servers. A Blizzard spokesperson told GameSpot AU that the patch would simply add an option to select which Battle.net server you connect to when you initially load up the game, meaning that changing between the servers is as simple as restarting the game.

　　Aside from adding in access to NA servers, the patch will add in a variety of gameplay balances to the three factions and slight terrain modifications to the Desert Oasis map.
