NA LCS Week 4 Day 1 Preview-April 2024

  Cloud 9 (6-2) vs XDG (2-6)

Cloud 9 has had another strong start to the LCS, but this split has come with a couple road bumps at the hands of Dignitas and Team Solo Mid. Nonetheless, Cloud 9 has shown that they are still deserving of a top two spot. The “KDA King”, Meteos, holds the top spot in North America with a score of 8.8. Cloud 9 should have an easy week, as they face two teams tied for last place.

XDG has gone from hero to almost zero. Last split, XDG was a top tier North American team, even qualifying for the World Championship. Now, the team is in a tie for last place with a record of 2-6. This drastic change in results can largely be attributed to the teams controversial Jungle/AD roleswap. Xmithie and Zuna have struggled in their new roles, and their effect on the team is apparent. It’s looking like a rough week for XDG, as they face off against Cloud 9 and Dignitas.

  Dignitas (5-2) vs Coast (2-6)

A week of rest was well deserved after Dignitas’ stellar week two performance. The team is now on a five game win streak. As a whole, Dignitas has the second highest KDA in the league at 5.66. Imaqtpie also has the second highest KDA in the AD role, at 6.91. Right now, Dignitas is on fire, and will look to make a break for a top two spot in their three games this week.

Coming into the split, Coast looked promising. Their challenger scene dominance combined with the addition of former Cloud 9 analyst, Alex Penn, made it seem like Coast would be able to stay in the mix. But, the team has fallen in a tie for last place, with a 2-6 record. Their weakest point is the the bot lane, who hold the lowest KDA of any other team.

Evil Geniuses (3-5) vs Team Solo Mid (7-1)

Evil Geniuses showed promise in their victory over Curse last week. They had struggled with team synergy in past matches, but everyone seemed to be on the same page playing versus Curse. But, it’s unknown if they are ready to take on the likes of Team Solo Mid.

Every week so far, a Team Solo Mid player has earned MVP. The addition of Bjgersen has reignited the team, giving them the push they needed to reclaim their North American dominance. They hold the highest KDA of any team, and the highest KDA in Top, Mid and AD. TSM should be able to make it out of the week unscathed, as they play EG and Curse.

  Curse (3-5) vs Dignitas (5-2)

Curse’s first matches looked promising, but it’s hard to tell where the team really stands. In some games, their teamplay and champion perfectly executed. In others, the team makes decisions that leave fans scratching their heads. With a 3-5 record, Curse still has time to move to the top, or fall behind the pack. Keep an eye on Voyboy in the mid lane, as his unconventional champion picks always put up an exciting show.
