Day 1 of the NA LCS super week got off to an explosive start. Day 2 won't disappoint - lets' break down the upcoming matches.

  Crs vs XDG

Christopher “Zuna” Buechter and XDG silenced all doubts after their first match versus Evil Geniuses yesterday. A role swap between former AD Zuna and former Jungler Jake “Xmithie” Puchero received critical reception from LCS fans. But, Zuna’s 6/0/15 performance on Olaf combined with Xmithie’s 6/0/8 Jinx let everyone know that XDG was ready to rock. Curse also had a strong debut match featuring their retooled roster. David “Cop” Roberson’s stellar performance on Caitlyn was reminiscent of his 2013 spring split dominance. In the CRS vs XDG matchup, the junglers will be tested. Christian “IWillDominate” Rivera made some key plays in Curse’s match versus Coast, including a Baron Steal. Zuna’s recent return to the jungle may falter against IWillDominate’s years of experience.

  C9 vs CLG

Cloud 9 hasn’t stopped their North American dominance, and doesn't plan to anytime soon. The team quickly took down Team Solo Mid, who were considered to be C9’s toughest competitor in the LCS. In the next match, Ann “Balls” Lee on Shyvana dismantled XDG and ended the day with a total KDA of 9/1/16. CLG had a solid return featuring George “HotShotGG” Georgallidis in the mid lane and Link filling in for Dexter in the jungle. Due to recent Visa complications with European player Marcel “Dexter” Feldkamp, CLG was forced to play with a modified roster in the first week of the LCS. Despite having only 2 weeks to practice, CLG pulled out a win versus Dignitas thanks to their strong rotations. Although HotShotGG made you scream with his classic Nidalee play versus Dignitas, can they really take down the kings of North America? The lane to watch will be the top lane. Nien was punished for overcommitting in their most recent match, while Balls played a nearly perfect game on both Shyvana and Renekton.

  DIG vs TSM

Team Solo Mid took out their anger after a loss to Cloud 9 with a victory over the Evil Geniuses. Søren “Bjergsen” Bjerg was able to utilize Zed and delete several key targets in back to back teamfights. TheOddOne was also able redeem himself, going 4/4/11 on Olaf, after his abysmal Nunu performance against Cloud 9. Shortly after, Dignitas had an embarrassing loss against a temporary CLG roster. Ever since BotA, Dignitas hasn’t been able to get their new roster to work. The key matchup in this game will be in the mid lane. Dignitas is depending on Scarra to carry to have any hope of winning versus TSM. On the other hand, if Bjergsen gets rolling on Zed or Yauso it might as well be game over. Dignitas needs to work on their top and jungle synergy, as well as general team play if they want to be relevant in this split.

  EG vs CLG

This matchup has some interesting history behind it. Krepo, Yellowpete and Snoopeh were all part of CLG’s sister team, CLG.EU during Season 2. In fact, they even lived in the same house as CLG while preparing for S2 world championships. The players on both of these teams know each other very well. Although CLG were able to secure a victory over Dignitas, EG didn’t have the greatest day. Evil Geniuses lost both of their matches against XDG and TSM, displaying some problems in their gameplay and champion select. Again, the key matchup in this game will be in the mid lane. During the promotion tournament, Eugene “Pobelter” Park’s explosive performance on Ziggs was one of the key factors in EG’s victory over Determined Gaming. But, the young Pobelter will face off against the classic League of Legends pro, HotShotGG. It will be crucial for EG to have a solid pick and ban phase, as letting HotShotGG have Nidalee, Xerath or LeBlanc could mean disaster. If CLG wants to win this game, they will have to come out of laning phase with a significant objective and gold lead to snowball their advantage.

  CST vs DIG

Both Dignitas and Coast lost their first match of the LCS, and are looking to regain momentum. On the side of Coast, Nintendude will need to have more of an impact in the jungle. The lack of presence of his 0/5/4 Shyvana in teamfights allowed Curse to clean up and control the map. With Dignitas, they will need to find a way to shut down both solo laners, ZionSpartan and Shiphtur as they have massive carry potential in the late game on champions like Trundle or Ziggs. Dignitas will hope that Cruzer and Scarra will go even in their lanes, and that Qtpie and KiwiKid will move into the midgame with enough advantage to carry teamfights. Coast will depend on the solo laners to wreak havoc in the early game and snowball the team into the midgame.
