More PlayStation Classic Details Emerge Ahead Of Release-January 2024
Jan 12, 2025 9:46 PM

Sony's response to Nintendo's NES and SNES Classic devices, the PlayStation Classic, launches very soon. It's out on December 3, priced at £90 / $100 USD / $130 CAD / $150 AUD, and now Sony has announced even more details about the mini retro console.

A detailed FAQ on the PlayStation Blog covers a number of new details, starting with the size, which is 5.8" x 1.3" x 4.1". For those doing the math, that's 45 percent smaller than the original system; it's even smaller than a PS4 game case. The mini system weights 6 ounces, while the controllers are 4.9 ounces. The included HDMI cable is 2.0m or 78.7", while the controller cables are 1.5m/59.1" long. The FAQ page also confirms that only PlayStation Classic controllers work with the system, so you won't be able to plug in a DualShock 4 controller or anything else.
