Monster Hunter World Ships 5 Million Units Worldwide, Making It The Best Selling Entry In The Series-October 2024
Oct 22, 2024 7:41 AM

It's been some since an entry in the Monster Hunter series has been released on home consoles, and it looks like players were starved for such a release, as Monster Hunter World made an excellent debut worldwide.

According to Capcom, Monster Hunter World has shipped 5 million units worldwide in its first three days of availability, making it the best selling entry in the series. The second best, Monster Hunter Portable 3rd only shipped 4.9 million units since release.

Monster Hunter World is a game that no fan of the series should pass on. The experience is as engaging as ever, and the quality of life improvements make the game one of the best entries in the series.

Capcom’s first full-fledged Monster Hunter on the latest generation of consoles (with PC to follow later this year) is among one of the strongest sequels to any RPG I’ve ever played. Nearly every quality of life improvement works out in World’s favor and makes the experience more immersive and accessible, rather than trying to dumb it down for a newer audience (I certainly won’t miss trying to knock out a Fatalis with an orange sharpness hammer just because I was an idiot that didn’t bring enough Whetstones). We’re only just in the first month of 2018 and already I can claim that Monster Hunter World might very well be my own personal Game of the Year.

Monster Hunter World is now out on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. It will launch on PC later this year.
