Molyneux Signs With Activision
Molyneux Signs With Activision-October 2024
Oct 21, 2024 7:51 AM

Lionhead Studios, formed by gaming legend Peter Molyneux, has announced that Activision will be publishing its next two games and will possibly publish others. Interestingly, Lionhead isn't developing those titles. Instead, Lionhead has introduced an interesting development model in which outside developers have full access to all Lionhead's technologies, creative resources, testing, sound, and administration.

Big Blue Box and Intrepid will complete the first two games under this new development structure, and Molyneux will serve as executive producer. Based in Godalming, UK, Big Blue Box is headed by two brothers, Dene and Simon Carter. The London-based Intrepid is headed by Joe Rider, Terry Cattrell, and Matt Chilton.

"Our objective when setting up our new business model was to create an environment where world-class talent could grow and develop the next generation of computer games. It was important for us to partner with a publisher who appreciated this development structure. We consider Activision an ideal partner. Their enthusiasm for quality and support for third-party development matched our ambitions. We are confident that we have found a publisher with both the vision and resources to help realize these games' undoubted potential,'' said Lionhead's Peter Molyneux.

Already, the two unannounced titles are in the early stages of production.
