Xbox 360 owners with Internet-connected consoles have been awaiting dashboard updates to their consoles with anticipation (and sometimes, trepidation). Microsoft has promised two major updates a year, each one adding new features to the hardware such as video downloads or webcam support.
Another update was released today, but those expecting new features will be disappointed.
The next time gamers launch an Xbox Live-connected Xbox 360, an autoupdate will be downloaded to the system. However, Xbox Live director of programming Larry Hryb (also known as Major Nelson), says on his blog, "There is nothing major in this one, it just addresses a few performance and stability issues."
The next major Xbox 360 dashboard update is expected this spring.
