Middle-earth: Shadow of War Gets Stunning 4K@60 PC Gameplay via NVIDIA-November 2024
Nov 17, 2024 1:25 PM

We've reported yesterday that Middle-earth: Shadow of War, sequel to 2014's hit Shadow of Mordor, will have High Dynamic Range (HDR) and Scalable Link Interface (SLI) support on PC.

That's thanks to the collaboration with NVIDIA, which will most likely translate into the addition of a few GameWorks technologies as pointed out in the official blog post.

Many titles later, NVIDIA is doing our part to make sure gamers are blown away by the PC version of the next instalment in the Middle-earth franchise.

Our full arsenal of development resources — including visual effects libraries, developer tools, research papers, source code samples and more — is at Monolith’s disposal. Our team, made up of more than 300 visual effects engineers, is lending its expertise in game development to the project and helping Monolith add the latest in graphics technologies to the game.

We’ll be working with Monolith up to the launch of Middle-earth: Shadow of War to performance tune, increase platform stability and finalize support for features and technologies only offered on the GeForce GTX PC gaming platform.

It's hardly surprising, then, that NVIDIA shared an exclusive gameplay video from the PC version, captured at 4K@60FPS. It's brief, but it looks far better than anything we've previously seen in terms of graphics.

MIddle-earth: Shadow of War is out on October 10th for PC (Windows 10 and Steam), Xbox One and PlayStation 4. We know that it will support native 4K resolution on the Xbox One X, while Monolith Productions is still finalizing the technical specifications for Sony's PlayStation 4 Pro console.

Captured directly from Gamescom 2017, this 4K gameplay of Monolith's upcoming fantasy combat title, Middle-earth: Shadow of War, shows off a new siege battle, beast control/riding, and the unique Nemesis combat system.
