Microsoft’s head of the Xbox gaming division, Phil Spencer, took to Twitter to comment on a question regarding the Nintendo NX.
Spencer can often be found on Twitter, answering questions from the gaming community. Overnight the Xbox honcho was asked about his thoughts on Nintendo’s upcoming dedicated home console, the NX. Spencer replied that when Nintendo launches a new console, it’s “an exciting time” for the gaming industry. He added that the upcoming Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, which will release on both the Wii U and Nintendo NX, “looked good at E3”.

During Microsoft’s E3 conference, the American software and hardware behemoth announced a heavily enhanced Xbox One console – Project Scorpio. The new console is said to feature 6 teraflops of GPU power, and more than 320GB’s of memory bandwidth. According to Spencer, the Scorpio will offer “true 4K gaming and high fidlity VR”.
For this year’s E3, Nintendo decided to go all out on the upcoming new Zelda, instead of focusing on the Nintendo NX. ““The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is a game that deserves this level of focus. You’re right, it is our primary game we’re showing this year, and it’s just spectacular. For a game that immense and exciting we thought it deserved this sort of stage, and, frankly, this level of focus”, Nintendo of America’s executive vice-president of sales, Scott Moffitt, told the Financial Post recently.
Nintendo strongly believes in the upcoming Zelda and NX, and even claims that the game will be “an immediate reason” to buy Nintendo’s new console.
