Microsoft announced that it was shipping Revenge of the Arcade. Revenge includes PC versions of the classic arcade games: Ms. Pac-Man, Xevious, Rally-X, Mappy, and Motos, and gives players a chance to return to the thrilling games of yesteryear. These versions of Ms. Pac-Man et al. are designed to approximate as closely as possible their original incarnations, down to opening screens and bleeping and blipping noises.
For another trip down memory lane, Microsoft announced plans to release Microsoft Pinball Arcade in November. This game showcases "the evolution of pinball around the globe" with representations of a game from each decade, 1930 through 1990. Those pinball tables include one of the first pinball prototypes, Baffle Ball from 1932; 1947's Humpty Dumpty, the first pinball game with flippers; the first triple-decker pinball table, Haunted House from 1982; and others.
Both titles are part of Microsoft's Arcade line, which includes Microsoft Arcade (featuring the games Asteroids, Centipede, Battlezone, Tempest, and Missile Command) and Microsoft Return of Arcade (featuring Pac-Man, Dig Dug, Galaxian, and Pole Position).
