Microsoft To Showcase “Super Solid Lineup” & New XB1 Hardware w/Internal Power Supply @ E3 Briefing-October 2024
Oct 16, 2024 6:36 AM

In the last two days, we've had several leaks on E3 2016 announcements. This is mostly thanks to insiders like Shinobi602, who proved his reliability over and over again, and newcomers like Enter the Dragon Punch and ekim who successfully leaked Dead Rising 4 and State of Decay 2.

They've dropped a few more tidbits today, with a particular focus on Microsoft's showcase. Shinobi started by saying that Microsoft is going to have a "super solid lineup".

Making a roundup, it's safe to say that the following titles will be featured at their press conference:

Dead Rising 4State of Decay 2Crackdown 3Halo Wars 2Gears of War 4ScaleboundSea of ThievesReCoreForza Horizon 3That's not counting further surprises. Regarding Forza Horizon 3, Enter the Dragon Punch said that it will be on PC too and it's going to be set in the Southern Hemisphere. But there's more: according to ekim, there will be new Xbox One hardware with an internal power supply.

He then also added that this system will be able to play movies at a "certain resolution". This seems to suggest an Xbox One Slim with 4K movies playback capabilities, which fits the previous rumors by The Verge:

Sources familiar with Microsoft's Xbox plans tell The Verge that the refreshed Xbox One will be 40 percent smaller than the current model, and will likely include 4K video support.

The Xbox One Scorpio, on the other hand, appears to be further out in the release timeline. This would be a much more powerful system thanks to a stronger GPU (likely derived from the new AMD Polaris architecture), with a reported target of 5-6 teraflops, about four times what the current Xbox One is capable of; that's because the Scorpio would have to support Oculus Rift and 4K gaming, which are much more demanding than 1080P (and often lower) resolution.

The Xbox E3 2016 Briefing will go live on June 13 at 9:30 a.m. PDT. You'll be able to watch it from Xbox.com, Twitch, YouTube, Facebook Live and even your Xbox 360/One consoles, but in case you can't there's no need to worry as we got you covered. Just stay tuned on Wccftech for all the latest.
