Microsoft today announced the Season Pass Guarantee program, which will allow those who purchase a downloadable content pass for select Xbox 360 games to download the Xbox One equivalent at no extra cost.
Major publishers like Activision, Electronic Arts, and Ubisoft have signed on for the program, Microsoft said. Confirmed titles for the program thus far are Call of Duty: Ghosts and Battlefield 4.
"Season Pass Guarantee makes transitioning from Xbox 360 to Xbox One an easier and smoother process, so you don’t have to worry about which console you're playing games on or repurchasing your existing add-ons on Xbox One," Microsoft said.
Additional publishers and titles participating in the Season Pass program will be announced in the coming months, Microsoft said.
Sony has not announced a similar plan for the PlayStation 4.
