In the weeks leading up to the Xbox brand's 20th anniversary, Microsoft had some news to share regarding a few of its biggest franchises. One of these, Microsoft Flight Simulator, has seen a pretty massive resurgence following the latest game's launch, and it's about to get even better with Microsoft Flight Simulator: Game of the Year Edition. If you already purchased the game, you can get all the new content for free, too, and it's included with Xbox Game Pass.
Arriving November 18, Microsoft Flight Simulator: Game of the Year Edition includes an additional eight airports, more aircraft, more tutorial and Discovery Flight options, DX12 support, and the new Reno Air Races event. This is, according to the announcement, the "fastest motorsport on Earth," bringing a dose of high-octane excitement to a game that is generally known more for its realism and relaxing nature than its action.

Now Playing: Microsoft Flight Simulator Full Presentation | Xbox Gamescom Showcase
Microsoft Flight Simulator first came to PC in 2020 before releasing on Xbox Series X|S over the summer. It's also going to be available to play on Xbox One through cloud streaming in the future, enabling those who can't find one of the newer machines to still enjoy it for the time being.
The release will come just days after Microsoft launches its next ground-based vehicular game, Forza Horizon 5. Also available on Game Pass, it'll be releasing simultaneously on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC, with play also supported on mobile via Xbox Cloud Gaming. We were quite impressed with it, awarding the game a 9/10 in our Microsoft Flight Simulator review and calling the Series X version "every bit as breathtaking as its PC counterpart."
