The Sony Metreon, the electronic giant's game and entertainment center in San Francisco, has begun taking nominations from journalists and game industry insiders for its first group of inductees to the Walk of Game. Officially announced last year, the Hollywood-style landmark will honor characters, franchises, and pioneers in the game industry when it is installed next year.
After nominations are received, the Metreon will open voting on the first batch of stars. Two inductees from each of the three categories will be honored, and gamers worldwide will be able to vote for their favorites at the Walk of Game's official Web site. Voting begins in October, and the Metreon will update the site with biographies, message boards, and other content as that time approaches.
