Metal Gear Online is accessible through The Phantom Pain's main menu.
Metal Gear Online has been "fully redesigned" since the last time players saw it in 2008's Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots for PlayStation 3 with new modes and more. GameSpot recently spent some time with the mode and you can read our impressions here and see some gameplay in the video above.
Konami also has confirmed that The Phantom Pain's Collector's Edition DLC--which includes an XP boost and in-game content like a gold WU S pistol and AM MRS-4 machine gun--is now available in Metal Gear Online.
In addition, Konami has released a new update for the game's other multiplayer mode, Forward Operating Base (FOB), which includes new missions, equipment, and the option to spend real money to insure bases.
