Metal Gear Solid 3 CD single coming to Japan
Metal Gear Solid 3 CD single coming to Japan-April 2024
Apr 5, 2025 5:37 AM

Solid Snake enthusiasts in Japan might have to wait a little longer to play Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, but they'll have something to hold them over this December. This week, Konami announced that a CD maxi-single featuring tunes from the game will be released in Japan for the price of 1,050 yen ($9) on November 17, day and date with the US release of the game.

The CD contains a total of four tracks. Performed by Cynthia Harrell, the first track, "Snake Eater," is the James Bond-esque theme song that plays during the game's opening sequence. "Metal Gear Solid Main Theme" is the main theme of the original game, composed and newly arranged for MGS3 by Harry Gregson-Williams. "Don't Be Afraid" is another vocal song produced especially for the game, and the final track is an instrumental version of "Snake Eater," so you can sing the lyrics yourself.

But that's not all--the disc will also include some CD Extra features. A video montage set to "Snake Eater" will be viewable if you open the CD in your computer, and if the included second disc is inserted into the PlayStation 2, MGS3 players can unlock a special camouflage pattern for Snake to wear in the game.

The two-CD original soundtrack release for the game will be released in Japan on December 15. Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater will be released for the PlayStation 2 on December 16.
