Last May we took a first look at Metal Fatigue, a 3D real-time strategy that Psygnosis was readying for E3. The game gives players the ability to control configurable robots called Combots, which can be built and modified with parts from your inventory or with scrap pieces from enemy units. The action takes place on three levels at once - underground, on the surface, and in orbit. The onscreen radar displays an overview of these three playing fields for easy navigation.
We've compiled several new shots from the latest build of Metal Fatigue that show off all three levels of play, and the improvement over the E3 shots is clearly evident. There will be more than 30 single-player and 30 multiplayer missions available in the game, and the artificial intelligence is supposed to be top-notch. However, we will have to wait for a final version to see if the game lives up to the company's promises. The game is slated for a February release.
