Mega Man Live-Action Project Coming To Netflix - Report
Mega Man Live-Action Project Coming To Netflix - Report-November 2024
Nov 1, 2024 10:21 PM

A live-action adaptation of the classic video-game series Mega Man is reportedly coming to Netflix, according to production company Supermarché (Catfish).

As of this writing, the streaming service has not yet confirmed or commented on this project. But in a comprehensive update to Supermarché's website, they let slip that "features in the works include an adaptation of Capcom's Mega Man for Chernin Entertainment and Netflix, which they wrote and are directing." It's unclear if this project relates to--or is in fact the same as--the live-action Mega Man movie announced back in 2018, which IGN confirmed in 2020 is still coming from directors Ariel Schulman and Henry Joost.

Netflix is currently the home for other game adaptations including Castlevania, The Witcher, and League of Legends: Arcane--so it isn't a huge stretch they'd welcome Capcom's Blue Bomber to its streaming roster.

Relatedly, it was also announced that a new Earthworm Jim TV series is currently in development. However, similar to the Mega Man project, neither have released any plot or casting information.

The streaming service also recently demonstrated that it is quick to dismiss live-action adaptations of series regardless of how popular its source material was. Earlier this month, after considerable delays and only one season, Cowboy Bebop was unceremoniously given the axe.
