Piranha Games have announced that MechWarrior 5: Clans will launch in 2024 for PC, PlayStation, and Xbox.
MechWarrior 5: Clans follows the story of an elite squad of mechs in a clan called Smoke Jaguar. It takes place during Operation Revival, which was an invasion of the Inner Sphere. The game is different from 2019's MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries, which was an open-ended and procedural experience. MechWarrior 5: Clans, on the other hand, will feature a linear campaign and be an evolution of the franchise's gameplay.
The game also features mech progression and customization options, where players can alter their own mech loadouts.
While Piranha Games stated that MechWarrior 5: Clans will launch on consoles, the studio didn't specify whether it'd only include the current console generation with PS5 and Xbox Series or the last generation as well with PS4 and Xbox One.
Piranha Games president Russ Bullock teased that a new MechWarrior game was in development back in January, but the official reveal wouldn't be until later this year. Now, we have confirmation that MechWarrior 5: Clans will launch in 2024.
