A new trailer for Matt Damon's movie about defending the Great Wall of China from monsters has arrived from New York Comic-Con, revealing more of the movie's action and some of the premise.
It's a marked departure from the initial teaser trailer for The Great Wall in that it actually features dialogue. We see Damon imprisoned after being labeled a thief, but he later asks for the opportunity to fight when monsters show up. He also shows off with a little bow-and-arrow trick that would make Legolas blush.

Now Playing: The Great Wall - Trailer 2
Speaking of which, this trailer makes the movie even more look like it'll be a full-length version of the Battle of Helm's Deep from The Lord of the Rings. That's not at all a bad thing, although there will no doubt continue to be some questions about Damon's casting.
The Great Wall is being directed by Zhang Yimou of Hero and House of Flying Daggers fame. It's the biggest movie ever to be filmed entirely in China, and it's also his first English-language production.
Alongside Damon, the movie stars Jing Tian, Pedro Pascal, and Willem Dafoe. It's slated for release on February 17, 2017.
